About Cockroach
Cockroach was founded in 2006 by a group of nine school students, in year 10 at the time. Working with thier support teacher, Simon Pugh-Jones of the Writhlington Orchid Project, and thier business advisor, John Nichols they came up with a innovative new product, filling a hole in the market. Palm Tree Kits. Cockroach Registerd with Young Enterprise, and set about developing thier new product.
After hours of long hard work members of Cockroach Sourced seeds, Spagnum Moss, and packaging within five months. Now Cockroach has a had product, which was ready for the Young Enterprise company programme local christmas sale in Bath.
By the end of December 2006 Cockroach has sold in excesse of £600 worth of stock, meaning that we now had a huge weight off our chest. In january we returned to work with a pleasent supprise, Hillier Garden Centers were interested in becoming our first whole-sale customer.
Orders now began to come in thick and fast. We progressed, gaining more wholesale centers, and entering every Young Enterprise competition avalible, surging through to the national finals. Up to now we had won every competition we had entered.
In preperation for the national finals, to show our dedication to the judges, we registerd as Cockroach Ltd. on the 6th july 2007. At the national finals we finally met our match coming second to another company.
Our Young Enterprise days may be over, but we're still in the game. We are now targeting more Wholesale garden centers like Wyevales, which we hope to get our product into all 127 of thier Garden centers.
